Claire is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Washington in Seattle. She is a member of the Watershed Dynamics Research Group and is largely interested in modeling coupled hydrologic and social systems, particularly where complex interconnections exist between water, food, energy, and ecosystems. Her current project focuses on investigating source-to-sink sediment dynamics of Mount Rainier drainages and the role of sediment on flood hydrology using a coupled hydro-geomorphic model.
Prior to graduate school at UW, Claire worked in consulting for three years as an environmental engineer at CH2M HILL in Oakland, California. She received her B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Claire is a registered Professional Civil Engineer in the state of California.
